I am very excited to tell you that I will be attending a continuing education program this Friday dealing with optimization of the CEREC system which I have been using for several years. But before I discuss this class specifically I thought a general mention of continuing education might be of interest.
Continuing Education is just what it sounds like – a furthering of my understanding of a procedure or dental material for example. I learned long ago that in order to be a truly great Dentist I needed to be a great student for the rest of my life. As you know there are new technologies, new procedures, and continuing research in every area of dentistry that are being published regularly. It is a daunting task to try to decide which is the most important for my patients’ benefit and then spend the time and money to make that happen. I have always been interested in furthering my education and it is my personal goal to do double the amount the state now requires of Dentists in Indiana. Sometimes the opportunity is there for classes here in Muncie, but more often it is in a distant location. I try to schedule this so as not to interrupt office hours, but occasionally I find I need to move some appointments to accommodate the classes, and I always appreciate your understanding.

Dr. Fasbinder is a certified CEREC trainer, and has been at the forefront of research regarding its use. The title of the course is CEREC Optimization, and I look forward to learning from Dr. Fasbinder how to better utilize this amazing technology. For those of you who may still be unfamiliar with the CEREC system I will tell you that it allows me to prepare, fabricate and place what is absolutely the finest restoration on the face of the planet in one visit, generally in about 2 hours. While my face wasn’t pretty enough to be selected for one of these interviews, I think you’ll find them compelling. www.cerecstories.com
