As I am preparing for a meeting Thursday I thought I should share a bit about an organization I have been a part of for a few years now. First Muncie BNI is a local chapter of Business Networking International, which is an organization that is about developing business relationships to enable confident referrals to other professionals in the community. There are 3 chapters here in Muncie. The one that I belong to is the oldest, hence the name. By spending the time that I have with the other members I am able to offer a value-added service to my patients and friends – namely a trusted competent referral for other services they may need.
You can see from the newsletter which professions are represented that I might be able to help with. I want to mention that our associations are strictly professional, so when I refer somebody there is never any “kickback” or other type of financial dealing between members. Likewise there is no discussion of details unless the client okays it, so Doctor/patient confidentiality rules apply.
